Directors
John Arbuckle: Non-Executive Chairman
Mr Arbuckle is a CPA with extensive experience in the mining industry in Australia and overseas. His recent positions have included Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of Mount Gibson Iron Limited and Chief Financial Officer of Perilya Limited, where he guided the companies through difficult start up phases. Prior to this he held senior financial management roles with Rio Tinto Limited, North Limited and Anaconda Nickel Limited. He has considerable experience in developing financial and risk management strategies for mining companies and the implementation of accounting controls and systems.
Mr Arbuckle is also the company secretary of Rialto Energy Limited, a director of Prosperity Resources Limited and Non-Executive director and secretary of Alchemy Resources Limited.
Peter Cunningham - Managing Director
Mr Cunningham has a degree in Applied Science (Mining Engineering). He has thirty years experience in mine development and operations. He was an Executive Director of Hill 50 Gold NL and Abelle Limited, and Managing Director of Bluestone Tin Limited in the period 1998 to 2005.
Premjit Roy - Non Executive Director
Mr Roy holds a B.A. in Management and Finance & B.Sc Economics (Double Major) from Wittenberg University, Ohio. U.S.A. Mr Roy received University honors and deans list recognition in Economics and Management.
Mr. Roy has worked for a US$13 billion dollar hedge fund in New York as a trading assistant, where he assisted multimillion dollar trades in various financial instruments traded on the US Stock exchange as well as all over the world.
Management
Ian Huitson – Chief Operating Officer
Mr Huitson has a degree in engineering (Mining Engineering) with 24 years experience in operational and technical roles in the mining industry.
He was the Operations Director of Monarch Gold Mining Company Ltd 2007-2009, Group Mining Engineer at Consolidated Minerals from 2005 to 2007 and Resident Manager at Consolidated Minerals’ Woodie Woodie Manganese Mine from 1999 to 2005. Prior to this Ian had 15 years experience with WMC and Dominion Mining/Plutonic.
Ian has extensive operational and technical experience in Manganese, Chromite, Gold and Nickel industries.
Ian Shackleton – Exploration Manager
Ian is a geologist with over 20 years experience in a variety of technical and management roles with a number of major mining companies including Iluka Resources, BHP and Normandy Mining. Prior to joining Auvex Manganese he was the Manager Geology, Perth Basin for Iluka Resources between 2002 and 2010.
Ian has extensive exploration and operation experience in the mineral sands, industrial minerals, diamonds and gold industries.
Bernard Crawford – Chief Financial Officer
Mr Crawford is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years experience in the resources industry where he has held various positions in finance and management with NYSE, TSX and ASX listed companies. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia, a Master of Business Administration from London Business School and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
Bernard is also a Non-Executive Director of Impress Energy Ltd.
Brett McMahon – Chief Geologist
Brett Mc Mahon is a geologist which has in excess of 25 years in the mining industry working in both operational and management roles.
Brett has previously worked and held senior positions with Western Mining Corporation, Great Central Mines, Hill50 Gold, Harmony Gold Australia, Metals X.
Brett has extensive experience with mine geology, exploration geology, resource calculations in addition to mine management and new business roles. Brett has worked in a variety of commodities, namely nickel, gold, and tin with experience with iron ore and manganese.
Recent experience includes Chief Geologist at Big Bell Gold Mine with Harmony Gold, Registered Mine Manager Big Bell Gold Mine with Harmony Gold, Harmony Gold (Australia) Corporate- New Business Manager and Group Geologist Metals X Ltd.
